Mike Dippolito is the young man who was told by Boynton Beach police in 2009 that his wife of six months, Dalia Dippolito, had hired a hitman to kill him. There’s video of Dalia talking to a hitman (an undercover cop) but Dalia claims she was just acting, and Mike was in on it. Dalia was convicted for solicitation of murder and sentenced to 20 years but it was overthrown. She’s now awaiting a new trial in May 2016.

Mike Dippolito said at her sentencing that he felt a little sorry for her. “No one wants to go to jail,” he said with experience. Prior to meeting Dalia, he ran a telemarketing scam, telling investors he was investing their money in foreign currency. According to Broward Palm Beach New Times, Mike made $200,000 in 11 months. He pleaded guilty to fraud and was sentenced to two years in prison. He spent seven months in jail and is on probation until 2032. His interview with ABC 20/20 – and Daila’s – will air December 4 at 10pm.
