In the Lifetime TV movie The Flight Before Christmas, Stephanie (Mayim Bialik, Big Bang Theory) gets dumped by her boyfriend right before the holidays. To avoid being home alone, she jumps on a red-eye flight to be with her family. She’s miserable, and she can’t hide it on the plane. To add salt to her wound, she’s seated next to a young man named Michael (Ryan McPartlin, Chuck) who’s on his way to propose to his longtime girlfriend. When the flight gets diverted to a small town in Montana, Stephanie and Michael find themselves in a quaint inn, which has just one room left.

Payton has starred in Moesha (Mrs. Campbell), Will & Grace (Mrs. Freeman), and The Proud Family (Suga Mama), among others. The Flight Before Christmas premieres on Lifetime on December 5 at 8pm.
