Brad Boyink of Grand Haven, Michigan is really into Christmas decorating. For the past six years he’s been decorating his house – and neighborhood – with an animated light show set to music. His passion for dramatic lighting led him to invent Geek My Tree, a line of full color, animated Christmas tree lights. Boyink’s Animated GlowBalls comes with a variety of visual effects which can be controlled by the Geek My Tree free app. You can control the effect time too, that is, how long each pattern — horizontal spinning dots, for example — will play. Note: Horizontal spinning dots cost extra but can be purchased via the app.
The catch is the price of Geek My Tree. One box of 80 Animated GlowBalls costs $399; a box of 160 is $599. Boyink will pitch his business on Shark Tank on December 11 at 9pm on ABC.
