The Air Force Reserve Celebration Bowl — Alcorn State vs. North Carolina A&T — kicks of this year’s massive Bowl game schedule on December 19 at noon ET. Next up the Gildan New Mexico Bowl featuring underdog Arizona against New Mexico at 2pm ET (ESPN). The Lobos (7-5), led by coach Bob Davie, take on the Wildcats (6-6) in their first bowl game since 2007. The atmosphere should be electric if the Lobos can live up to the point spread.
Later (3:30pm ET) there’s a battle for bragging rights in Utah, though the game goes down in Vegas. What happens there between the No. 22-ranked Utah Utes and the BYU Cougars won’t stay in Vegas. The Cure Bowl invites 5-7 San Jose State to battle Georgia State (6-6) in Orlando at 7pm ET. That’s how the Bowl season gets started, culminating in the national championship game on January 11.
