Inventor Drew Beaumier of Fountain Valley, California is the young man behind Drive Suits. It’s a superhero looking costume that one can wear and, when on all fours, can drive. Wheels are attached to the suit’s wrists and ankles. Beaumier wore one of his Drive Suits on American Idol in 2011 (he wasn’t chosen), and then pitched his suits on Shark Tank a year later.

Beaumier made a deal with investor Kevin O’Leary — $150k for 30 percent on the contingency that they get a deal with a toy manufacturer. It’s not clear whether that deal happened — the product isn’t available on his website. But that’s not stopping Beaumier from capitalizing on his innovation. He appears to be focused on the live entertainment aspect of his business (versus getting them manufactured for retail purposes). According to Beaumier’s new website, his new and improved Robot Drive Suit Costumes are available (with an operator) for booking for public, private, and media events.
