On Madam Secretary, a State Department official has been kidnapped in Afghanistan. It’s up to Elizabeth McCord (Tea Leoni) to negotiate his release. She seeks the advice of the real former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright. Taking Albright’s advice means ignoring the President’s recommendation. That’s not going to sit well with President Dalton’s (Keith Carradine) Chief of Staff, Russell Jackson.
