The new family comedy Life In Pieces is about the ups and downs of the Short family. James Brolin is the patriarch; Dianne Wiest is the matriarch. They’re both lovable characters, as are their imperfect adult children including Matt, who still lives with them. When Matt goes out on a date with his co-worker Colleen, he takes her “home.” She’s impressed with the house and thinks at first he’s a “trust fund baby” until they’re greeted by Matt’s parents sitting on the couch.
