Burger King launched a brilliant ad campaign encouraging McDonald’s to give peace a chance. To celebrate Peace Day (September 21), Burger King offered a ceasefire in the burger wars, suggesting that the two giant fast food companies collaborate to create a McWhopper. According to Notable.ca, the McWhopper could “blend the Big Mac’s top bun and Big Mac sauce with the tomato slices and 4-ounce meat patty from the Whopper, among other things.”
The golden arches CEO Steve Easterbrook rejected the proposal and posted a response on Facebook which included this zinger: “We commit to raise awareness worldwide, perhaps you’ll join us in a meaningful global effort? And every day, let’s acknowledge that between us there is simply a friendly business competition and certainly not the unequaled circumstances of the real pain and suffering of war.” To learn more about the real Peace Day, visit here.
