When NFL star Marvin Phillip of the Pittsburgh Steelers had a back injury in 2008, it was difficult for him to bend over. But that didn’t stop Phillip from helping around the house. While bending down to pick up the laundry in the hamper, he realized there was a better way. So he designed the Lift Hamper with a bungee spring inside so people don’t have to bend over to pick up clothes. Clothes rise to the top as laundry is removed. It can hold 2-3 loads. Plus, it’s on wheels!

Phillip went on Shark Tank in 2012 and didn’t get a deal but he was encouraged by viewers to pursue his enterprise so he launched an Indiegogo campaign. Phillip raised the money needed and made Lifter Hamper a reality. Lifter Hampers are now available for $40 on Amazon (see above). Lifter Hampers are also at Target.
