If the Body Beast program looks to you like, um, exercise, then you haven’t been following the trends in the billion dollar fitness business. You can’t trademark any of these moves, or patent them — mostly because squatting, pull-ups and the rest have been around since time immemorial. (Have you seen Laocoon, for goodness sake?) But what you can do is name an exercise program and promote the shit out of it. (You can trademark the name, of course.)
And you can get someone super famous to say that not only did Body Beast get him to drop 80 pounds, it’s also essential in his ongoing recovery from addiction. How about Eminem? He’s fits the bill. Eminem told Men’s Journal magazine about Body Beast: “Now every morning before I go to the studio, I do the Body Beast workout with free weights, bench, and pullup bar at home. It’s just me, so it helps that the Body Beast dude is over-the-top.” It makes sense: Eminem was already a beast in all the other ways.
