On Cold Justice, Kelly Siegler and Yolanda McClary travel to South Carolina to investigate the 28-year-old unsolved double homicide of Eric and Doris Ferguson. On February 28, 1987, the married couple was found dead in their Pauline, SC home. They were both shot repeatedly in their heads while apparently preparing lunch. According to the current investigator Brandon Letterman, “There were no signs of forced entry into the residence all indications through the investigation back then was that the suspect was known to the victims at that time.”
Eric’s son Kevin Ferguson, a veterinarian, was suspected of killing his 57-year-old father and 37-year-old stepmother but at the time there wasn’t enough evidence to charge him. Strangely, weeks prior to the double homicide, Kevin Ferguson’s friend Allan “Big Al” Mackenzie was found stabbed to death in his Cocoa, Florida home. Mackenzie had owed Kevin Ferguson money. Ferguson was charged with first-degree murder of MacKenzie. After two mistrials, a third jury found Kevin Ferguson innocent. At the time of the third trial, Ferguson was serving a 12-year sentence for burglary in Georgia. Cold Justice airs Fridays at 8pm on TNT.
