CBS is premiering a new TV reality series called The Briefcase (Wednesday, May 27 at 8pm). Two families are presented with a briefcase filled with $101,000. After visiting each other over a week’s time, each family has to decide if they’re going to keep the much-needed cash for themselves, share it with the other hard-working family who is also facing financial difficulty, or give it all away. The thing is: they don’t know that the other family has a briefcase of money, too. The big question throughout the show is “What matters most?”
The two families chosen for the first show are the Bergins and the Bronsons. Joe and Kim Bergin are from Matthews, North Carolina. They are the owners of a struggling ice-cream truck business; their trucks are in need of serious repair. They also have three teenage daughters to provide for. Dave and Cara Bronson are a young couple from Manchester, New Hampshire. Dave is a Purple Heart veteran who lost his leg during the Iraqi war. Cara is the breadwinner and is pregnant with their second child. They are currently building a new home that is wheelchair accessible. The Briefcase will premiere on May 27 at 8pm on CBS.
