James Harden could have easily won the NBA MVP over Stephen Curry. It’s not that Curry didn’t deserve it–he did. Curry led the team with the best record and astonished people with his play all season. But Harden did everything Curry did, and led a team — especially while Dwight Howard was out — that was inferior to Curry’s Warriors.
When Curry won the award, Harden said “[Not winning] was tough, but I got more, better things to worry about and that’s the Clippers.” More, better is Harden’s mantra, no doubt. With a legit big man back the Rockets have their eyes on the title. Harden will gladly take the Finals MVP trophy over the regular season award. Dallas coach Rick Carlisle, whose Mavs lost to the Rockets in round one, says the Rockets have a “great chance at the whole thing.” That’s more, better. Rockets evened their series with the Clippers at 1-1, as Harden scored 32.
