American football player Michael Sam has signed with the Montreal Alouettes. It’s a one-year deal with an option for 2016. The former defensive star at Missouri was drafted by the NFL when the St. Louis Rams took him in 2014. But Sam was cut before the regular season started. He practiced with the Dallas Cowboys, too, but was again cut before the regular season.
Sam made a big splash in the media last year when he publicly announced that he is gay. Some have questioned whether his sexuality has kept him from his dream of playing in the NFL. If Sam demonstrates his pass-rushing skills in Canada, will it make an impression on the NFL?
