On Secrets and Lies, Ben must remember what happened the night of Tom’s death. Detective Cornell says she has damning video evidence of his guilt. So, with the help of his friend Dave, Ben tries to retrace his steps from that night. But Ben’s lawyer, John Garner, “comes up with an alternative theory of the murder, which leads to a shocking discovery.”
Ben’s lawyer is portrayed by Secrets and Lies producer (and regular director) Timothy Busfield. He’s best known for his Emmy-winning role as Elliot on Thirtysomething, Dr. J.T. McIntyre on Trapper John, M.D., and more recently as The Washington Post correspondent Danny Concannon on The West Wing and Benjamin Franklin on Sleepy Hollow. He is married to actress Melissa Gilbert (Half-Pint on Little House on the Prairie) who has a recurring role on Secrets and Lies as Lisa Daly. Secrets and Lies airs Sundays at 9pm on ABC.
