Nine years ago, three members of Duke University’s #1 ranked lacrosse team were accused of rape. After the accusations were proven false, the young men were eventually declared innocent. But the coach of team, Mike Pressler, was forced to resign his job or risk getting fired. After the scandal, it was difficult for Pressler to find another job. One school would only agree to meet him off of its campus at a rest stop for a job interview.
Pressler is now the coach at Bryant in Rhode Island. Since he’s been at the helm, the Bryant lacrosse program moved from Division II to Division I. Pressler receives job offers with bigger salaries now but he’s made a commitment to stay. “Loyalty is everything,” he tells Armen Keteyian on 60 Minutes. The interview will air April 11 at 7pm on CBS.
