New Orleans Saints tight end (and Super Bowl champion) Benjamin Watson wrote a long post on Facebook, urging Christians to be ready to fight the Islamic State–even if it means dying in the process. The much-admired Watson was stirred to write by “newsfeeds filled with men being burned alive or beheaded by masked assassins. Stories of families on the run, fleeing their homes while they are pillaged and burned.”
Watson admits he “tremble(s) with fear at the thought of facing such incredible atrocities for the sake of Christ.” But he warns his “fellow Americans” that “our day WILL COME.” Watson has spoken before about national and international issues, including the controversial Ferguson grand jury decision. Elsewhere on his Facebook page Watson poses with Will Smith and Margot Robbie at the New Orleans Superdome promoting their new movie, Focus. The film is a contest between Smith and Robbie to see who is more deceitful.
