Paired together as backcourt starters for second straight game, Jeremy Lin and Jordan Clarkson again performed well in tandem. Clarkson scored 20 points and Lin 19, leading the Lakers to a 101-99 OT win against the Timberwolves. Clarkson played nearly 38 minutes; Lin notched just over 29 minutes of playing time.
Lin and Clarkson each had five assists. Clarkson had a team high 6 turnovers, while Lin committed 3. Both Clarkson (8-8) and Lin (6-6) shot 100% from the free throw line. The Timberwolves (16-55) are one of the few teams with a worse record than the Lakers (19-51). Coach Byron Scott, who has been parsimonious this season with Lin’s playing time, has missed the last two games due to the passing of his mother.
