On the reality TV show The Bachelor where dozens of women vie for the affection of one man, a brave young woman was eliminated. When this season’s Bachelor, Chris Soules, brought the six remaining women to his hometown of Arlington, Iowa, a serious contender Jade Roper, revealed a piece of her past to Soules…and she was punished for revealing the truth. Roper once posed nude for Playboy and produced a short video, too, where she strips down to nothing.
It took a lot of courage for Roper to show Soules the photos and video. She knew she was taking a risk of scaring him off. Soules was surprised – she came across on the show as very shy, but his response to her “big reveal” was lame. He lied to Roper. He told her that the nude photos didn’t affect how he feels about her. But clearly it did. He sent Roper home. After the shock wore off, he could at least have told her, “you shouldn’t be embarrassed about those photos. You look amazing.” Plus, what are the chances of Roper being the only contestant on the show to have posed nude?
