International law firm Paul Hastings had a record-breaking year in 2014, seeing its gross revenue surpass $1 billion for the first time. “Revenue per lawyer increased by 8 percent to $1.15 million,” according to The American Lawyer, “while profits per partner grew 8.5 percent to $2.36 million.” Paul Hastings has 873 lawyers around the globe.
How do you get to $1 billion? Paul Hastings advised clients in 35 separate $1 billion-plus deals, providing services in 58 countries. It counts half the Fortune 100 among its clients. Paul Hastings chairman Seth Zachary pointed to “securities and capital markets, leveraged finance, intellectual property and white-collar defense” as growth engines for the firm.
