The romantic dark comedy film Focus starring Will Smith and Margot Robbie was a big production. Directed by Glenn Ficarra and John Requa, Focus was shot in New Orleans, Buenos Aires, and New York City. The entire film was edited in Final Cut Pro X, which makes Focus “the largest production yet completed in Apple’s editing program.”
Requa said: “What I love about Final Cut Pro X is that it allowed me to be involved with, and in control of, every aspect of making our film.” That sounds like an exaggeration but hey, his job is to sell Will Smith as a convincing grifter. Requa also said Focus “came in on time and under budget,” and it played and looked just as he’d envisioned it.
