A woman trying to explain her “disdain of Steve Harvey” to her mother put together a compilation video of Harvey on a tour de force of ignorance, culminating in crazy statements about men and women that practically define what’s known as “rape culture.” The video starts off with some Inherit the Wind stuff–Harvey doesn’t believe in evolution and “how we all came from monkeys” because then “why are there still monkeys?” Other lowlights include his answer to the question about why men cheat. It’s because of women. Because of “all the women out there willing to cheat with them.”
In one CNN interview, Harvey tells Joy Behar to check her husband’s “man card,” implying Joy may not have married a “real” man. Asked by a young woman about the best way to let a guy know you’re not interested in him, Harvey answers: “You can’t. You cannot stop a guy. Once a guy is interested in you, we lock in. We don’t care what you do.” Pushed, Harvey suggests the young woman “fake a seizure.”
