Dr. Mehmet Oz, the TV doctor, went on Twitter to answer America’s health questions. He encouraged everyone to use the hashtag #OzsInbox. It didn’t go so well. The hashtag turned into a “channel for rage and shame, where skeptics and disappointed viewers have been venting about Dr. Oz’s pseudoscience and trickery.”
There’s one medical student in particular who wants to bring Dr. Oz down. Benjamin Mazer, a third-year medical student at the University of Rochester, believes organized medicine should be taking action to regulate the advice that Oz delivers in the media. Mazer isn’t the only one. Doctors including Cathleen London MD chimed in on Twitter: “How do I get my patients to stop believing your bull? #OzsInbox?”
