Reality TV star Apollo Nida of Real Housewives of Atlanta was found guilty of bank, wire and mail fraud. The morning of his sentencing, his wife Phaedra Parks (an attorney) decided not to be at their house due to the paparazzi trying to get a picture of her and her children. Apollo, alone in the house, talks to the Bravo producers on-camera about his situation. He explains, “I’m not a child molester, or murderer or the guy on the corner selling cocaine,” he says. “I know what I did was illegal. It was wrong but it’s fixable,” he said calmly.
Apollo is clearly disappointed that Phaedra left with the kids and won’t be there at court with him. Away from Apollo, Phaedra rationalizes: “Whether I’m there in court or not won’t change anything.” She added, “I have to be a parent first.” But after receiving an eight year sentence and word that Phaedra is having an affair with a mysterious African business man called “Mr. Chocolate,” Apollo is gonna’ lose it.
