The trained Shakespearean actor who became James Bond for just two films in the 1980s (The Living Daylights and License to Kill), Timothy Dalton is making a comeback. He’s playing African explorer Sir Malcolm Murray in Showtime’s psychological thriller Penny Dreadful, a series about a group of people who work together to combat supernatural threats in Victorian London.
Dalton’s co-stars include Eva Green, who starred with the other 007 Daniel Craig in Casino Royale, Josh Hartnett (Black Hawk Down, Pearl Harbor) who plays an American gunslinger, and Billie Piper who said season 2 is “going to be even more full-throttle than last year.” All eight episodes of Season 1 can be seen via Showtime. Season 2 of Penny Dreadful will premiere in 2015.
