Actresses Sophia Bush, Bethany Joy Lenz and Hilarie Burton of The WB teen drama One Tree Hill got together in Paris this weekend for a convention dedicated to the show that’s been off-air for two years, From Wilming to Paris 2. Bush posted pics of the trio (and one of herself with former co-stars James Lafferty and Paul Johansson) on her Instagram account and hundreds of thousands of twentysomething, female fans went crazy. Although an on-screen reunion has been dismissed repeatedly, fans are still holding their breaths.
The original premise of One Tree Hill was to follow the lives of two half-brothers who compete for positions on their high school basketball team. But in season 2, the basketball drama was completely removed. WB executives decided they didn’t want a show geared more toward a male audience. David Janollari, then entertainment president at The WB, attributed the show’s sophomore success partly to “its shift in focus from a male-driven sports plot to expanding the stories of its girls.” The series finale was the highest rated among women 18-34 in more than a year.
