Mickey’s Fun Wheel, the 160-foot tall Ferris wheel at Disneyland’s California Adventure, broke down on Thursday, leaving riders stranded on the ride for more than two hours. The ride is supposed to last 9 minutes.
After the Ferris wheel was manually rotated to let riders get off, CBS interviewed the most forgiving patron who got stuck in one of those Ferris wheel gondolas, Anthony Sanchez. He explained, “We walked out and they had wet towels, water, and ice cream for us. There were very very apologetic about it.” Disney also gave each stranded guests a free one-day pass.
