Senator Ted Cruz walked off the stage of an event hosted by the organization In Defense of Christians (IDC), after being booed for making pro-Israel comments. Cruz, the keynote speaker, was invited by IDC, a group that focuses on persecuted Christian and minority communities in the Middle East.
The Texas Republican senator told Breitbart News that the crowd showed “a shameful display of bigotry and hatred.” Before walking off, he told the crowd “If you will not stand with Israel and the Jews, then I will not stand with you. Thank you, and God bless you.” IDC president Toufic Baaklini said the booing was caused by a “few politically motivated opportunists….(who were) made no longer welcome.”
