The Internet is reporting that Rachel McAdams has been offered a role in the second season of True Detective? Just yesterday came news that Keira Knightley was in the running for a part because McAdams had a scheduling conflict, but all signs are that the Canadian actress, best known for romantic fare such as The Notebook, and for hanging out with time-travelers, is set to explore her dark side as a detective in the brooding drama.
Variety is reporting that “McAdams was about to start filming ‘Spotlight,’ the drama revolving around the Catholic Church sex scandal uncovered by The Boston Globe, and it was unknown whether dates could be worked out for McAdams to do that film and ‘True Detective.’ Sources say that in the past 24 hours, a deal was worked out where the actress could do both projects.” The show helped revive the career of Matthew McConaughey and was central to his McConaissance. Several sources today have used the term The McAdaisance in connection to McAdams. To us, frankly, that makes us think of nuts. We prefer the term The Comebackadams™.
