The coach of the hip-hop majorette troupe The Dancing Dolls is doing something she’s never done before. On the second-to-last episode of the popular reality TV show Bring It!, coach Dianna Williams (aka Miss D) is training her Dancing Dolls (11-17 year old girl dancers) to parade with her Baby Dancing Dolls (5-10 year old girl dancers). It’s a big risk as the girls will face the largest field of competitors they’ve faced all season. Have you seen a five-year-old dance with a 17-year-old? Miss D has some work to do. (Bring It! airs Wednesday, September 17 at 9/8c.)
Fans of Bring It! might wonder where Miss D learned how to be so tough. She’s been open and candid about “falling off track” as a teenager. After high school, she made a living making adult films. The girls know about her past, they’ve talked about it. Williams says her past has actually helped her in coaching. “I explain to them [the girls] that I didn’t have the support system that they have. So they should really take advantage of the opportunity they have.”
