I Kissed A Girl singer Katy Perry is on her third concert tour, The Prismatic World Tour. Country singer Kacey Musgraves is opening for her in the Midwest. Ticket sales average $252.60, higher than Beyoncé and Lady Gaga. Why so much? Well, Katy Perry said she was going to bring all the bells and whistles on tour and she’s delivering on that promise.
Elaborate costumes, wigs, a mechanical horse, an inflatable car, and fireworks light up the stage of The Prismatic World Tour. Rolling Stone’s Mark Sutherland referred to the tour as “loud, garish, camp and never less than uproariously entertaining” and “a show to damage retinas and blow minds.” This week Perry and a few backup dancers took a break from the tour and played at a waterpark in Missouri. A video featuring a “plain” Perry — in a pool wearing nothing but a black string bikini — is also causing a sensation.
