English singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran is riding high after his big win at the VMAs for Best Male Video. But he didn’t want all the attention, as is typical for the laid-back performer. (Still shouldn’t he boast a little, beating out names like Eminem, Pharrell Williams, John Legend and Sam Smith in his category?)
Instead Sheeran was talking about Nicki Manaj’s rocking, sexed-up Anaconda performance that opened the show. What part did he like the best? Sheeran said the part that his pals were in: “I liked the end of it when Jessie and Ariana were together because you realized how good they are individually and together. The vocal performances were very impressive.” Still Sheeran doesn’t ever forget to dance with who brought him. He loved Taylor Swift’s performance, too. In 2013, Sheeran was hand-selected by Swift to open for her massive RED tour and he’s never looked back. He’s even got a RED tattoo.
