Demi Lovato is her own best promoter these days–and proud of it. Lovato used to be an insecure emotional wreck, as she’s been explaining to her fans (the Lovatics) on Instagram. Not anymore! At the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday night, Lovato may have been the freshest healthiest sexiest sight of all the celebs strutting their primetime stuff. She looked completely comfortable in her plunging neckline–the red dress advertising Look at Me!
That’s a long way from 2010, when the singer entered rehab for an eating disorder. Back then she couldn’t see anything positive when she looked in the mirror. But she feels great about herself now–and she wants to let others know the perils of trying to be perfect. “It makes me sad because I wasted so many years ashamed of my body when I could’ve been living the happy and healthy life I live today,” she writes. “It TRULY just goes to show you that your perceptions can lie to you. OR they can make you learn to enjoy life.” Let’s hope Lovato’s fans, those millions of young Lovatics, are all listening.
