Former child star Mayim Bialik (Blossom) has made a wonderful comeback as Amy Farrah Fowler on CBS’s The Big Bang Theory. Now Bialik, the Emmy-nominated actress who also has a PhD in neuroscience, is the new host of Candid Camera. The hidden camera/practical joke reality television series was created and produced by Allen Funt in the 1940s, originally on the radio! The modern day version with Bialik is premiering this week–where else but on TV Land? She’ll be working with Allen Funt’s son, Peter Funt.
Bialik said of her new role on Candid Camera: “It is kind of a giant social experiment to see how people behave when there’s no logical explanation for why things are happening. It’s fascinating to see how people try to make sense of these gags.”
