Famous biter–ahem, striker–Luis Suarez has been transferred from Liverpool to Barcelona in the biggest deal of the summer so far. The transfer fee of $128 million makes the move the third largest in European soccer history.
The addition of Suarez to Barça’s roster will add some bite to the UEFA Champions League powerhouse’s already formidable front line (which includes injured Brazilian star Neymar Jr. and Argentinian captain Lionel Messi). Opponents may take some encouragement, however–Suarez will miss a good portion of the season due to a four-month ban incurred when he bit opposing player Giorgio Chellini in the 79th minute of Uruguay’s World Cup win over Italy. It was the third recorded biting incident of his career.
