The exhibition Rhythm & Repetition at the Heckscher Museum of Art focuses on artists who use repeated shapes as a method to organize their compositions. Depicting natural, man-made, or purely abstract forms, these artists reveal the search for order that underlies the human experience. Drawn entirely from the Museum’s Permanent Collection, the exhibition features work by Berenice Abbott, Richard Anuskiewicz, Oscar Bluemner, Arthur Dove, Childe Hassam, Roy Lichtenstein, Robert Richenburg, Emilio Sanchez, and Friedrich Stowasser (Friedensreich Hundertwasser), among others.
Rhythm & Repetition, on view through August 10, 2014, is sponsored in part with generous support from the Hargraves Family through the Nadon Trust.
