The US government’s assault on religious freedom—much noted recently, due the uproar surrounding the current health plan’s determination to ensure that women of all faiths receive equal treatment under the law—may not be as tenacious as feared, it seems.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency yesterday announced an additional $1.6 million in finding to John Curtis Christian Schools in New Orleans, bringing the total amount the federal government has given to JCCS since Hurricane Katrina to $6.9 million. The school plans to use the money to build a 24,500-square-foot facility in which it promises to help children develop the “ability to excel in their daily walk with our Lord Jesus Christ.”
