Who Is ‘Bullit’ Car Owner Owen Cairo On ‘Blue Bloods’?

When the last remaining car — a 1968 Mustang — used in the classic Steve McQueen film Bullitt is stolen, Detectives Danny Reagan (Donny Wahlberg) and his partner Baez (Marisa Ramirez) are put on the case. There’s reason to believe that the beautiful young wife of the car’s owner, Owen Cairo, arranged for the theft. It’s up to Reagan and Baez to find it and figure out why exactly she would do it.

Cairo is portrayed by Anthony Edwards. He’s best known for his roles as Dr. Mark Greene on ER, Goose (Tom Cruise’s partner) in Top Gun, and as Gilbert (the tall blonde nerd) in the Revenge of the Nerds movies. Blue Bloods executive producer Wade said Edwards was their “first choice” for the role. He said of Edwards: “He’s a terrific actor with an innate talent for drawing empathy and relatability from the audience.” Blue Bloods airs Fridays at 10pm on CBS.
