Angie Ver Huel dated David Moffitt for a few months before finding the man of her dreams, Justin Michael. Michael worked at a local Wells Fargo in Grimes, Iowa. After Ver Huel broke up with Moffitt, Moffitt got a job in the same department at the same Wells Fargo where Michael worked. When Michael announced his engagement with Ver Huel at work, Moffitt told a co-worker that “he was having problems moving past it.” Months later, Moffitt broke into Michael’s home and shot Michael while he slept in his bed, beside Ver Huel.

Ver Huel was unharmed, physically. And Moffitt has been found guilty of first-degree murder and first-degree burglary. Moffitt tried to make it look like a burglary by stealing a DVD player. He also tried to frame Andrew Wegener, the man Ver Huel dated before Moffitt. Moffitt is facing life in prison. Ver Huel continues to work as a math teacher at South Middle School in Waukee, Iowa.
