World ranked No. 20 tennis professional Sofia “Sonya” Kenin, who was born in Russia and emigrated to New York as a baby, is having a good year so far. The 20-year-old’s best result at a Grand Slam tournament came at the 2019 French Open, where she defeated Serena Williams and made it to the fourth round. (No. 2 Ashleigh Barty won.)
After the French Open and before the US Open, Kenin took a deep breath and shared a bikini pic of her on a rooftop, exposing her “tennis tan” for which she was teased. One fan wrote: “Should focus on getting those feet tan haha!”
The photo above is a better shot of Kenin, who captioned it: “I’m just a beachy kinda girl.”
At the 2019 US Open, after defeating fellow American Coco Vandeweghe during the first round, Kenin faces 31-year-old German Laura Siegemund in the second round on Wednesday, August 28 at 5:15 pm on ESPN.
