In the Outdaughtered episode “Our Home Is Sick,” Danielle and Adam Busby, parents of six daughters including 4-year-old quintuplets, are told that there is an “astronomical” mold problem in the girls’ bedroom upstairs. In the previous episode, Ava was rushed to the doctor when she was having trouble breathing. A mold inspector named Linda comes to the Busby house and tells the parents, “Emergency steps need to be taken.”
Linda tells the Busbys that the children can sleep downstairs but all the pillows and mattresses in their bedroom need to be thrown out. (Clothes can be washed.) Linda tells them to hire a mold remediation contractor to come in and vacuum everything else. Hopefully, that will remove all of the mold — but Danielle worries about living in the house and “all these girls are getting sick.” When Adam tries to comfort Danielle, saying to take one day at a time, she tells him flatly, “I don’t want to be in this house.” Outdaughtered airs Tuesdays at 9pm on TLC.
