On the Outdaughtered episode “Houston, We Have a Potty Problem,” father of six girls Adam Busby tries to bond with his daughters as NASA’s Space Center. He’s hoping one of the girls will be interested in space, an interest of his. But at the Space Center, most of the quints shriek in fear when they see the gigantic astronaut suits and the capsules they worked in. Later, his wife Danielle and her sister Crystal take the quints to a store called The Funky Monkey to go shopping for big girl underwear. Danielle tells the saleswoman that their daycare center said they need 3 to 5 panties, each. “That’s a lot of underwear,” says the saleswoman. Yeah, about 20 to 25. Just thinking about her life without diapers has Danielle saying, “What a huge pay raise that’s going to be!”
At the Funky Monkey store, the quints are encouraged to pick out their own pantie packages and they help themselves by trying them on — over their pants. Some of the girls put on four at a time. Aunt Crystal announces they should have a pantie party at home where they’ll take off their diapers and put on their new big girl underwear and surprise Daddy — who’s really not on board yet with their potty training. “He’s hesitant,” says Danielle. Outdaughtered airs Tuesdays at 9pm on TLC.
