The Lifetime movie The Simone Biles Story: Courage to Soar is about Olympic gymnast Simone Biles. It’s based on her book Courage to Soar: A Body in Motion, A Life in Balance, which tells her life story “from foster care to the Olympic podium.” Actress/dancer Jeanté Godlock plays Simone.

Simone’s mother, Nellie Biles, is portrayed by Tisha Campbell-Martin. She’s known for her roles on Dr. Ken (Damona), Rita Rocks (Patty), Everybody Hates Chris (Peaches), My Wife and Kids (Damon Wayans’ wife Jay), and Martin (Gina), among many others. Campbell-Martin made her big screen debut in the 1986 Oscar nominated film Little Shop of Horrors as singer Chiffon. She’s also recognized for her role as Sidney in the House Party movies.
