Zuvaa is an online store that offers affordable African-inspired clothing and accessories from 85 designers around the world. Zuvaa (the name is inspired by a word from the Shona language of Zimbabwe, meaning sunshine) targets fashion-forward men and women ages 18 to 35 who appreciate the colorful prints and textiles of Africa. The entrepreneur behind Zuvaa is Kelechi Anyadiegwa of Atlanta, Georgia. She’s pitching her business on Shark Tank on January 21. In the Tank, when Kelechi announces that she’s looking for an investment of $460,000 in exchange for 10 percent, retail guru Daymond John raises his eyebrows in surprise.
Zuvaa was founded in 2014 and since then has developed a serious following. More than 270,000 people follow Zuvaa on Facebook where Anyadiegwa posts gorgeous photos of gorgeous people wearing gorgeous clothing (see below). Was Kelechi right to evaluate Zuvaa at $4.6 million? Daymond John will certainly let her know what he thinks. New episodes of Shark Tank (Season 9) air Sundays at 9pm and 10pm on ABC. [Related: 27 Favorite Shark Tank Products]
