Dollop Gourmet is line of all-natural, gluten-free, dairy-free frosting. There are four flavors: Hot Chocolate, Madagascar Vanilla, Peanut Butter Cookie Dough, and Sea Salted Caramel. Each are available in 12 oz. jars and sell for under $8. The baker behind Dollop Gourmet, Heather Saffer of Rochester, New York, pitched her business on Shark Tank in May 2016. (It wasn’t the 32-year-old’s first time on TV — she won the Food Network’s Cupcake Wars competition in 2012!) Saffer went into the Tank seeking a $75,000 investment in exchange for 20 percent equity of Dollop. Although Mark Cuban ate all of his Dollop frosting, he said he couldn’t invest because he would gain 300 lbs.! Saffer did make a deal with Barbara Corcoran (who invested in Shark Tank success story Daisy Cakes) — $75k for 25 percent.

Saffer said after Shark Tank, the first thing she wanted to do was to bring the shelf price down. (The price of a 12 oz. jar has lowered from $8.99 to 7.99). The second thing was to expand the product line.
