In the NCIS: Los Angeles episode “This Is What We Do,” the team tracks down a group who have illegally crossed the border and attacked California Highway Patrol officers. Intelligence Analyst Nell Jones’s (Renee Felice Smith) older and bossy sister Sydney Jones (who just happens to be a Homeland Security Specialist) is sent to help NCIS. When Sydney arrives at her sister’s office she says with a wink, “Looks like a found your secret lair.” Sydney refers to her sister as Penelope and sometimes “Peanut.”
Nell’s sister Sydney Jones is portrayed by Ashley Spillers. Spillers is known for her roles on HBO’s Vice Principals (Janice Swift, see link above), The Middle (Hannah), and in the films War Dogs (Rosen’s wife) and Last Vegas (Elizabeth), among others. NCIS: Los Angeles airs Sundays at 9:30pm on CBS, right after Wisdom of the Crowd, and right before Madam Secretary which starts at 10:30pm.
