On the fifth round of Blind Auditions on The Voice, Season 13, Katrina Rose Dideriksen dares to sing the 1969 Janis Joplin song Kozmic Blues. We say “dares” because Janis is never easy to handle — but Katrina does so with aplomb, and joins the all-girl team of Miley Cyrus.

Katrina Rose definitely has the chops and the experience on stage. After studying at the Durham School of the Arts, she went on to New York University. During her junior year (2010), she auditioned for the Broadway musical Hairspray and became the stand-in for the lead role of Tracy Turnblad, “a pleasantly plumb teenager.” Katrina Rose got to perform opposite Harvey Fierstein in the original Las Vegas production at The Luxor. The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8pm on NBC.
