Jazz singer Mandy Harvey is competing on America’s Got Talent, Season 12. She’s not like the other singers on the show as Mandy is deaf. As a child she battled gradual hearing lost and at 18, as a college freshman, she lost all of her hearing. She said at that moment, when she lost her hearing, “It was like I died.” It took a year before Mandy considered singing again. But when she did, with the encouragement of her father, her pitch was perfect.
Since losing her hearing Mandy, now 29, has since released four albums including “All of Me”, “Smile”, “After You’ve Gone”, and “Merry Little Christmas”. America’s Got Talent airs Tuesdays at 8pm on NBC.
