Composer Aaron Copland‘s “Rodeo” music has been used to enchant music lovers, ballet patrons, and also to sell beef on TV commercials. Talk about musical versatility. Now one Dancing With The Stars couple will use Copland’s “Rodeo: Four Dance Episodes” to try to sell the beefcake, too. Non-classical music fans recognize “Rodeo” as the theme song to the “Beef, it’s what’s for dinner” ads. But Mr. Rodeo himself, bull rider Bonner Bolton will try to ride Copland’s tune to dance success on Week 7 DWTS: ‘A Night at the Movies.”
Probably no movie genre is as classically American as the Western, and Bolton and his gorgeous partner Sharna Burgess will try to lasso the inspirational, aspirational American feeling that “Rodeo” delivers and make themselves competitive again. Bonner and Sharna will dance a Paso Doblé. The ballet “Rodeo” was scored by Copland and choreographed by Agnes de Mille.
