In the Season 5 premiere episode of Black Ink Crew, ‘Hail Ceaser!’, Ceaser opens his new shop on 125th Street and introduces the crew to their new receptionist, Kit SoVain.
The 24-year-old receptionist is from Washington, D.C. She says her father gave her the nickname “SoVain” because “she never met a mirror she didn’t like.” Before joining Black Ink, she was a professional makeup artist in D.C. When asked why she’s on a tattoo show and not a makeup show, Kit SoVain explains, “I want to expand my brand and business.” She has some experience in the tattoo world — she used to work as a receptionist at House of Ink. Kit SoVain says her job now is to bring in the “high clientele” to Black Ink. Black Ink Crew airs Wednesdays at 8pm on VH1.
